Mary Thornton

Mary A. Thornton, age 49, of Guys Mills, passed away Tuesday March 8, 2016 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Erie on October 16, 1966, a daughter of Corinne Kreider Chace and her husband James.

Mary graduated from Northwestern High School in 1985. She enjoyed being outdoors; spending time with her family around bonfires and camping. Mary loved cooking and making various crafts.

She is survived by her children: Corey Hepler, Stephanie Hepler, Kathleen Hepler and Steven Thornton; a sister, Jennifer Graves and her husband Jason; a brother, Edward Willey. She is further survived by 3 grandchildren: Rosalyn, David and Victoria; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, in Girard on Monday from 11 am until the time of the service at 1pm with Rev. Abe Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Francis Cemetery at a later date.
