Mary Pat Sullivan passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Nightingale Nursing and Rehab Center surrounded by her loving family.
Mary Pat was born in Erie on August 22, 1943, the first child of Eugene and Mary (Leary) Sullivan. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick.
She is survived by her sister, Kate Sullivan; her brother David Sullivan and his wife Kathy, and her sister-in-law, Stacie. She is also survived by four nieces, Melissa Shimek (Matt), Statia Brown (Pat), Rachel Sullivan, Caitlin Sullivan (Mark Shetabi); four nephews, Jack Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan (Jessica), Colin Sullivan and Shea Sullivan along with fourteen great-nieces and nephews. All of whom adored their “Aunt Prishie”
Mary Pat graduated from St. Andrew grade school and was a member of Villa Maria Academy’s class of 1962. She loved Villa and her classmates, and faithfully attended every reunion and casual gathering for sixty years. She had worked in Central Processing at St. Vincent Hospital for 35 years and after her retirement she worked several more years at St. Mary’s Home in Dietary.
Mary Pat was a Benedictine Oblate, a Cursillista, a faithful volunteer at the Emmaus Soup Kitchen and the Second Harvest Food Bank. She was a lifelong member of St. Andrew Catholic Church where she served several terms on Parish Council, assisted with the Children’s Liturgy, was a greeter on Sundays and was an active member of their Ladies Guild.
Her family would like to thank all the staff at Nightingale for their excellent and loving care for Mary Pat and the kindness shown to the family.
Friends are invited to call at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1116 W.7th St. on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 10:00am until 11:00 am at which time a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
