Mary Sledge

Mary Elizabeth Sledge age 55, of Erie, died Friday, January 22, 2016 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Erie, Pa. on January 19, 1961 a daughter of the late Leslie Crosby and Minnie Ola Howard.

She graduated from Academy High School and attended Clarion State University.

Mary loved her family and especially the grandchildren. She was an avid card player and loved bingo as well.

Over the years Mary worked for Owens Brockway Plastics and Presque Isle Downs and Casino.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Mattie Nelson.

She is survived by a son, Larry Sledge and seven brothers and sisters; Norris Howard and his wife Thelma of Erie, Vonnie Jordan of Charlotte, NC, James Howard and his wife Edie, James Arthur Sledge, Minnie Vera Miller, Dolores Henderson and her husband Harry and Theodore Sledge all of Erie. Mary also leaves her grandchildren; Aiyanna, Larry, Harmony and Lyric along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends Tonya Walker and Bernie Wicham.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 West Tenth Street, Erie, Pa. 16502 on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of services there at 1:00 pm.
