Mary Gail (Rollinger) Hahn, 84, of Erie, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 30, 1939 at St. Vincent hospital, the daughter of the late William Rollinger and Edna Mae (North) Rollinger.
A lifelong resident of Erie, Gail graduated from Villa Maria Academy and Villa Maria College. Her passion for swimming and sports led her to a fulfilling career as a physical education teacher at St. John the Baptist Catholic School for over 20 years where she started and coached the swimming and soccer programs.
Gail sought joy through people. Whether through a group called the Breakfast Club who would meet once a month throughout her life or going to the Erie Playhouse or Philharmonic with her girl’s club. She even became a certified and licensed clown called Flutterbye to bring joy to children. But it was always her family that brought her the greatest joy with a trip to the beach or a game of Scrabble.
In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded by her beloved husband Ronald J. Hahn Sr.
She is survived by her brothers, Bill Rollinger and Bob Rollinger and her sister Myra Cochran. She is also survived by her children William (Debbie) Hahn, Erin (John) DeMarco, Kathleen (Mark) Black and Ronald (Debbie) Hahn Jr, and her cherished grandchildren Veronica Black, Andy Black, Taylor Penpek, Gina DeMarco, Michelle Hahn, and Kyle Hahn.
