Mary Rickloff

“Perfect”

Mary E. (Gustafson) Rickloff, age 88, of Erie passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at the Gallagher Center at St. Mary’s Home East. She was born in Erie on March 20, 1930, the daughter of the late Joseph and Regina (Vahey) Gustafson.

Mary Eileen (Guffie) graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1948 and later, after raising her family, worked for Travelers Insurance Company in Erie and made many friends there.  Mary and Al had many friends from junior & senior high school and remained friends with them all their lives.  Mary was the matriarch of her family and she enjoyed sharing her childhood memories with anyone who would listen.   And her children loved to hear those stories as much as she loved to tell them.  Mary and Al were members of the Erie Yacht Club, loved traveling with GE retirees (GEER) and enjoyed vacationing in Florida.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen R. Rickloff, and by a sister, Kathryn Alward.

She is survived by her six children; Mark Rickloff  (Janet) of Bonita Springs, FL; Karen J. Sadler (James) of Erie; James R. Rickloff  (Heidi) of Raleigh, NC; Nancy S. Wilson (Todd) of Erie; Jane D. Mascharka (Eddie) of Erie; and Brian J. Rickloff of Erie. Mary is also survived by her sister, Geraldine Gustafson-Lee, fourteen grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to call at the Quinn Funeral Home, West 9^th & Liberty St. on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and are invited to attend Funeral Services there Friday at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
