Mary Ann Nash, age 88, formerly of Erie, loving wife of CDR (Ret.) Michael James Nash, USN (Virginia Beach), passed away at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Friday, August 17, 2021.
Born on September 30, 1932 in Erie, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Martha Gingenbach. She graduated Villa Maria Academy in 1950. As the wife of a Naval Officer, she lived in many places including Panama; St. Simon's Island, GA; Norfolk, VA; Pensacola, FL; and Virginia Beach, VA where they retired and made their home.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, LtCol (Ret.) Kevin Nash, USMC of New Orleans, LA, his son Brandon, and her sisters, Ruth Gingenbach of Erie and Nancy Zgraggen of Greenville, SC. Also, her sister and brother in law, Richard and Mary Jane Kaus of Erie, PA.
Survivors include her son, CDR (Ret.) Patrick Nash, USN of Virginia Beach and granddaughter Anne Nash of Omaha. Daughter- in-law, Sandra (Walton) Nash and grandson Caden of New Orleans. Brother- in -law, Martin Zgraggren of Greenville, SC. His children, Timothy Zgraggen of Brooklyn, NY and LCDR (Ret.) Craig and Laurie (Gehrlein) Zgraggen, USN of Huntsville, AL. Craig and Laurie's children, Craig, Andrew and Robert of Huntsville, AL. Nieces; Amy Beth Kaus of Detroit, MI and Linda (Kaus) Lazan and her husband Charles of Erie and their children Katya and Nathan. Cousins; Ann (Roland) and Brad Richter of Erie, Pa, David and Janice (Hauserman) Roland of Reston, VA, Gail (Roland) and Thomas Wiles of New Kensington, PA and John and Megan (Hanson) Roland of Spokane, WA.
Family and friends may call at the Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th and Liberty St. on Friday, August 27th from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM and are invited to attend Prayer Services there Saturday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Julia Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Crossingville.
