Mary Lou Krasinski, 85, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, July 21st. She was born in Erie, Pa. on August 13, 1935, a daughter of the late Howard and Louise Leone Jones. Mary Lou was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School and went on to work in the payroll department of the Marx Toy Company for many years, Herman’s Sporting Goods and retired from Kohl’s after 19 years of service as an associate.
She was active in her childhood parish for decades, Saint Paul’s Church, working behind the scenes, preparing food for the annual Saint Paul’s Italian Festival.
Mary Lou was an accomplished homemaker, cook and baker, always trying new recipes. Rarely could you visit her and not leave with enough food to feed an army. She loved having family over for holiday celebrations and would begin cooking and baking days or sometimes weeks in advance. She always put her family’s needs and wants above her own. A mother who helped without being asked, gave without expecting anything in return and loved without end. No sacrifice was too great for her family. Mary Lou’s biggest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. During football season, you could find her cheering on the Steelers and Penn State Nittany Lions. She was also a member of the Siebenbuerger Club Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, Mary Lou is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Richard and brother in law, Don Krasinski.
Mary Lou is survived by her sons, David Krasinski (Marcia Storten) and Paul (Lisa) Krasinski of Erie, daughters Diane (Matt) Fiscus of Pittsburgh, PA and Valerie Krasinski of Charlotte, NC. Grandchildren Angelina and Sophia Krasinski, Tori, Lindsay, Blake and Courtney Fiscus and step-grandson Roman Fronzaglia. Sisters Marlene (Tom) Cahill of Erie and Joyce Loupe of Port St. Lucie, Florida. Sisters in law Pat (Lou) Bruschi and Genny Krasinski all of Erie and many nieces and nephews.
