Mary Kestel

Mary A. Kestel, age 82 of Corry, PA died at her residence on Saturday December 9, 2017.

She was born in Corry, PA on March 27, 1935, the daughter of the late Delbert and Melissa Pero Ploss.

Mary loved her family above all and showed and shared her love through the baking and crocheting she did throughout her life. She also loved being outside and enjoyed time spent around campfires. Additionally, she enjoyed collecting Native American jewelry and artifacts.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Oscar L. Kestel in 1991. Also her brothers Alfred Ploss of Erie; Bob Ploss of Corry; George “Clyde” Ploss and Delbert “Dutch” John Ploss both of North East, PA, sisters Evelyn Button and Nettie Ploss both of Panama, NY; Shirley Moore of Corry; and an infant sister Anise Ploss also preceded Mary in death.

She is survived by her three sons, James Miles of Pittsburgh, PA; Dennis (Donna) Miles of Corry, PA; Philip (Nina) Kestel of Harborcreek, PA and two daughters, Melissa (Biagio) Aguglia of Cochranton, PA and Patricia (Harry) Petroff of Erie, PA. A brother Burton Ploss of Corry also survives. Mary has four grandchildren, Amy Royek, Deserai Sweat, William Petroff and Philip Kestel, and several great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road Erie, PA 16510 on Thursday December 14th from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday December 15^th in the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home All Faith’s Chapel, with private burial to follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
