Mary K. (O'Day) Dudenhofer, age 86, of Erie died on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Manchester Commons surrounded by her loving family. Mary K. was born on March 31, 1928 in Corry, PA, a daughter of the late Frank and Ruth (Hammond) O’Day.
She was a 1946 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and over her career worked for Trask’s Department Store in the Glove Department, in the jewelry department at the Boston Store, and in the personnel office at Griswold Manufacturing. First and foremost Mary K. was a loving and devoted Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother, Great-grandmother who cherished her family.
Mary K. was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church, and as a member of Gospel Hill Golf Club, she participated in the couples’ and interclub leagues.
IIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Dudenhofer; a brother, Joe (Glory) O’Day; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony (Sue) Dudenhoeffer, Carl Dudenhoeffer, Bill Dudenhoeffer, Rita (Bob) Ebisch, Mary Gleichsner Strick, Ed Gleischner , Bob Strick, Henry Waskiewicz and Jeanne O’Day.
Mary K. is survived by three daughters, Diane (Robert) Boeh, Deborah (Robert) Masi and Amy (Paul) Mohr, all of Erie; and one son, Robert W. Dudenhofer of Erie. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Marc (Carmel) Boeh of Rochester, NY, Nicole Masi, Kyle Mohr and Dillon Mohr, all of Erie; a great grandson Declan Boeh of Rochester, NY; a sister in law Millie Waskiewicz of Tampa, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend prayers at the funeral home at 9:15am and a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 130 East 4th Street, at 10am on Wednesday with the Msgr. Henry Kriegel officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
A special extension of gratitude and appreciation for the compassionate care of our mother and support provided by the nursing staff at Eagle Ridge Community of Manchester Commons.
