Mary Jane Reichard, age 93, of Lake City and Clermont, FL, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at her son’s residence
She was born in Atlantic, PA on May 4, 1921, daughter of C. Vertner and Mildred Walker McQuiston.
Mrs. Reichard worked for Harborcreek School District for over 30 years; first in the high school cafeteria and then a secretary in the administration office prior to retiring.
She was a member of the Girard Presbyterian Church and Shiloh Chapter No. 153 Order of the Eastern Star as well as the Clerbrook Ladies Golf Association. She was an avid golfer and shot her age at 87.
In addition to her parents Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband Fred C. Reichard a Veteran of WWII and a brother James C. McQuiston.
Survivors include two sons; Charles E. Reichard and companion Janet Gulnac of Fairview and James M. Reichard and wife Cheryl of Sugar Grove, WV.
Five Grandchildren; Kathleen Lintelman (Doug) of Raleigh, NC; John C. Reichard(Shelly) of McKean; Scott J. Reichard (Danielle) of Clayton, NC; Major (Ret.) Michael F. Reichard (Julia) of Earlysville, VA; Jeannine M. Rose (Dave) of Aliquippa, PA.
She is also survived by ten Great Grandchildren, two Great Great grandchildren, and a special sister-in-law Joan LaGrotteria.
Friends may call at Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 until the time of service there at 8 p.m. with Reverend Nicola Vitiello.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Girard Presbyterian Church, 260 Main Street East, Girard, PA 16417 or the Shriner’s Hospital, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
