Mary E. Smith Harkenrider, age 74, of Erie, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, September 14, 2018. Born on August 14, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Clifford “Rip” and Bertha (York) Smith.
Having retired from years as a Manager in Retail and being the “people” person she was, her spunky spirit brought much laughter and love to all who had the pleasure of meeting her. As a member of Erie First Assembly, she took great joy in being a humble servant of the Lord in addition to her unconditional loving devotion to her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leroy ”Stub” Smith and former husband and companion, Richard J. “Harky” Harkenrider.
Survivors include her children, William (Nikki) Harkenrider, Angie (Bob) Moir, Lisa Harkenrider & fiancé Chris Lawyer, Loni (Jason) Homan, and Curt Newell; Grandsons, Josh Moir, Zack & Richie Harkenrider, and Noah Homan; Granddaughters, Kandyss (Spurgeon) Foster, Bobbi & Halli Nichols, and Trinity Homan.; Great granddaughters, Jaela Moir And Ridgely Nichols, and Great grandson Nichols, due in November. Also surviving are her siblings, sister, Sherry (Roger) Graham; brothers, Robert (Nancy), John (Lois), and Bruce (Sue) Smith along with many nieces, nephews and their children. She will be greatly missed by all.
