Mary Jane Fournier

Mary Jane Fournier, age 90, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital on Friday, March 28th, 2025. She was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on March 5th, 1935, a daughter to the late Peter J. and Mary C. (Zboyovski) Macosko.

She graduated from East High School and then studied piano at the Erie Conservatory of Music. Mary always had a great love of classical music. She cherished the traditional organ and choir at St. Peter Cathedral where she was a member.

She met Joe, her beloved husband of 57 years while working at General Electric. She then became a homemaker to raise their 3 children. Her 4 sisters were so incredibly important and special to her and a huge part of her everyday life. Beyond her family, she was an avid tennis player, loved to travel, and play cards. She kept everyone laughing with her witty sense of humor and amazed all with her sharp as a tack memory.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Fournier, sister Patricia Oatman and her husband William.

Mary is survived by her children Joseph E. Fournier, Erie PA. Adrienne M. Palmiere (Jim), Virginia Beach VA. Monique A. Fournier (Brian Cobaugh), Pittsburgh, PA. Grandchildren James, Lauren and Mia Palmiere, and James Havas (step-grandson). Sisters Christine Opron (George), Kathleen Gick (Alan), Lynne Yaple (David). In-Laws Herbert Milane and Irene Fournier and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W 26th St, Erie on Friday, April 4th from 5-7pm. And are invited to the Funeral mass at St. Peter Cathedral on Saturday, April 5th at 10am. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery following the funeral mass.
