Mary S. Fish, age 95, of Millcreek, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018, at Brevillier Village.
She was born in Erie, on April 15, 1923, a daughter of the late George F. and Blanche Piersol Stoney.
Mary graduated from Mercyhurst High School and went on to attend Mercyhurst College.
She was a volunteer for the VNA and was past President of the Board. Mary loved to play bridge with her group at Lakeshore Country Club and bingo at the Erie Yacht Club, and was very active in Garden Club and Book Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, and was always delighted when the great-grandchildren came to visit. Mary also loved watching the wild animals come through her backyard and enjoyed spending time with her cats.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas M. Fish Sr.; two sons, Matthew and Wesley Fish; a sister, Florence Bennett; and an infant brother, George.
She is survived by two sons, Mitchell and Douglas M. Fish Jr. and his wife Christine of Erie; a daughter, Deborah Lane and her husband David of California; seven grandchildren, Katie, Corey, Maggie and Abbey Fish, Douglas and Charles Lane, and Alexandra Lin; six great-grandchildren, Joshua, Liam, Wesley, Kenzie, Carter and Gardiner; and a close niece and nephew, George and Marion Bennett.
The family would also like to thank the staff at Brevillier Village at Ball Pavilion for their excellent care and thoughtfulness during Mary's stay.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Avenue), on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m.
Burial will be private at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
