Mary Durkey

Mary Calhoun Durkey, age 87, of Fairview, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012, at Pleasant Ridge Manor West. She was born in Pittsburgh on August 19, 1925, a daughter of the late John J. and Hannah Scanlon Casey.

Mary was employed at the Boston Store until they closed and then at Elmwood Presbyterian Lodge until her retirement. She enjoyed homemaking and bingo.

Mary was preceded in death by her first husband Theodore (Ted) Calhoun in 1983 and by her second husband Andrew (Andy) Durkey in 1993. She was also preceded in death by two brothers John (Jack) Casey and Robert (Bob) Casey, a sister Theresa Sheehy, as well as her daughter Mary Eileen Teed.

Mary is survived by a daughter Linda Marofsky (David) of Lake City; two sons: Ted Calhoun (Jerri) of Lake City and Tim Calhoun (Bonnie) of Millcreek; six grandchildren: Melissa Matha (Lou), Amy Teed, Jon Dombrowiak (Cindy), Mark Dombrowiak (Angela), Stephanie Balko (Todd) and T. J. Calhoun (Lindsay); six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by three step grandchildren: Melisa Peckham-Justice, Tonya Carpenter (Ron) and David A. Marofsky (Adrienne), five step great grandchildren and three step great great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East in Girard on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and attend a service there on Monday at 11 a.m. in Burton's All Faiths Chapel. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
