Mary Davis

Mary Ann Breckley Davis, age 96 of Fairview, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.

She was born in Jamestown, New York on September 27, 1917, daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Krainski Dylewski.

Mary Ann retired from the Fairview School System where she worked as a cook and baker, and will be best remembered as one of her family’s best culinary contributors at any family event.

She loved dancing, bowling, card playing, laying in the sun, and was the life of the party, and this after putting in a hard day’s work! She was a member of Holy Cross Church for over 20years.

Mary enjoyed a long and fulfilled life, and will be best remembered for her consistent warm smile and ever present chuckle. She will be missed. Farewell to a wonderful woman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Clarence Breckley and son Gerald, and her second husband, James Davis. She was from a large family of 11 children, and was also preceded in death by sisters: Amelia (Amy) Sachse, Irene Kissel (Nan), and Josephine Mankoski (Jo), and brothers: Edward (Abe), Chester (Chet), Frank, John, Stanley (Brub), and Thomas Dylewski (Jun). Survivors include her three sons: Thomas Breckley of Lake City, Donald Breckley of Erie, and Dennis Breckley of Wesley Chapel, Florida; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, her youngest brother Robert Dylewski (Bob), and thirty-three nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday from 6-9p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, followed by burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in McKean.
