Mary Covey

Mary E. Bayhurst Covey, age 91, of Erie died on Tuesday February 10, 2015 at Golden Living Center Westen Reserve. She was born on July 8, 1923 in Erie, Pa to the late Lewis J. and Elma H. Fisk Bayhurst.

Mary was a graduate of Academy High School class of 1942.  

She worked in central processing at St. Vincent Health Center. 

Mary bowled at Frontier Lanes for many years and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the VFW Billy Simpson Post 470 Auxiliary. She enjoyed writing and painting.  In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Chester R. Covey (05/22/1979); brothers, Ray, Ted, David, Larry, William, Donald, and James Bayhurst; sister, Jean Saccamozzone.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Covey of Erie; son, Randy Covey and wife Mary Francis Covey of Venango PA; sister, Helen Benton of Erie; sister-in-law, Betty Bayhurst of Apple Valley, CA grandchildren, David Covey and wife Andrea of Lititz, PA, Michael Covey and wife Amber of Duncannon, PA, Jennifer Covey of Erie; great-grandchildren, Keelyn, Erin, Meghan, Kayleigh, and Brayden Covey; numerous nieces and nephews.
