Mary Ann Garvin, age 67, of Erie passed away Thursday October 25, 2018 at Walnut Creek Healthcare, surrounded by her family.
She was born in in Erie, May 29, 1951, daughter of the late Thomas and Julia Garvin.
Mary was a long time interpreter for the hearing impaired in Erie. For many years she lived upstate where she also interpreted and lived with her school family, who became dear friends.
Mary loved spending time with her family and close friends at Bruce’s Pub and Grub. She was a lifetime member of the Cascade Park Club. She, along with her parents, were life members of the Erie Silent Club, sharing her love with all there.
After retiring, and for many summers prior to retiring, Mary lived at Sara’s Campground. She also worked for Sara’s and made tons of wonderful friends there.
Mary was a loving sister to her sister Betty who cared for her for the last year.
She is survived by her sister Betty Rittenhouse, brother James Garvin and younger sister Karen Yeaney, all of Erie. She also is survived by many close nieces and nephews that love her and will miss her greatly.
As a lifelong educator, Mary chose to donate her body to science.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 West 26th Street Erie, PA 16506.
