Marvin E. Buck, age 84, of Erie PA, and formerly of Conneaut Lake, PA. for 50 years, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at his new residence in Erie.
He was born in Urbana, Ohio July 3, 1937 to Ruth Jewell and Marvin Davey. After his father's passing at a young age, he was adopted and raised by Donald Buck.
Marvin worked in the family's dairy business as a young man and graduated from Urbana High School in 1955. He graduated from Wabash College in 1959 and went on to attend Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1967 with a Master's Degree in Nutrition and in 1971 with a Master’s in Business Administration. Marvin worked for General Foods Corporation for 13 years both in Battle Creek, Michigan and White Plains, New York. His last job was with Dad's Products in Meadville, PA for over 27 years as Director of Research and Development and Quality Control. He also served in the USAF from 1959-1965 as a group Captain in the Aviation Cadet Program and AF Reserves. He served on the Board of Directors for Conneaut School District, Board of Directors for the Crawford County Humane Society and was a member of the Meadville Elks. Marvin also served as both Cub Scout and Boy Scout leaders for 12 years.
Marvin was an avid golfer, and enjoyed his golfing trips with both his golfing friends and family. He was an automobile enthusiast and also loved traveling. Marvin's greatest attribute was his undedicated love for his wife, children and grandchildren, whom he put first above everything else.
He is survived by his wife Pat of almost 60 years, three children, Scott Buck (Kelly), Brandi Monroe (Michael) and Craig Buck, 7 grandchildren, Matthew Buck (Leah), Karlee Buck, Nicholas Monroe, Jacob Monroe, Allison Buck, Alexis Buck and Eva Wright; two brothers, Donald Buck (Dorothy) of North Carolina and Phillip Buck (Sandy) of South Carolina.
Friends may call at Trinity Methodist Church, 240 N. 3rd. St. Conneaut Lake, PA on Saturday, October 2nd 2021. Visitation at 10:00 am, Memorial Service at 11:00. Marvin chose cremation, so there will be no graveside service.
