Martin John Lundstrom, 64, of Erie, died on Friday, December 14, 2018, at UPMC Hamot after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on June 15, 1954, in Erie, Pa., son of Mary Amendola Lundstrom and the late Harry Lundstrom. A 1972 graduate of Cathedral Prep, he attended Gannon University and Penn State Behrend earning a degree in Business Administration. He worked for Hammermill Paper Company for 30 years, retiring in 2000. Following his retirement, he and his wife purchased Clancy's Pub & Pizza which he continued to help operate until the time of his illness. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Erie Rugby Club, Times Old Newsies, Siebenbuerger Club, Erie Maennerchor and the Fulton Club. Marty enjoyed traveling, especially with Peg to Cape Cod, played basketball with the YMCA Recreation League, and was a sports fanatic, especially for Pittsburgh Steelers Football and Philadelphia 76ers Basketball.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Roger Barton and Sean McAlister.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 40 years, Peg McAlister Lundstrom; his mother, Mary Amendola Lundstrom of Erie; a son, Axel Lundstrom and wife Marissa of Minster, OH; two daughters, Autumn Lundstrom Elders and companion Adam Padgett of Shelocta, PA and Amy McAfee Hancock and husband Jason of Erie; a sister, Nancy Barton of Erie; seven grandchildren, Harry and Hazel Lundstrom, Quinn and Althea Elders, Jackson Padgett, and Austin and Alex Hancock; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of a Celebration of Life Service there at 11 a.m. Msgr. Henry Kriegel, of St. Patrick Church, will officiate.
Because of Marty's love of animals, the family requests memorials be made to the Erie Zoological Society, 423 W. 38th St., Erie, PA 16508.
