Martha Mcconnell

     Martha June McConnell, 65, of Erie, died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at UPMC Hamot.  She was born June 26, 1946 in Bedford, PA, daughter of the late William James and Pauline Beatrice Barr McConnell.  A 1966 graduate of Franklin High School, she worked for Pio's Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria and the 8th Street Ponderosa Steak House.  Martha played in the Bell Choir at St. Mary's Home; enjoyed making jewelry and hook rugs, cooking, and most of all, time with her family.
     She was preceded in death by a brother, William J. McConnell, Jr.; a sister, Pauline "Bea" Simpson; and a brother-in-law, Willard "Bill" Simpson.
     Survivors include four sisters, Adah Eakin (Lawrence) and Ruth McConnell, all of Erie, Ann Reynolds (Floyd) of Summerville, SC and Mary Wilson (David) of Mentor, OH; a brother, David J. McConnell (Maria) of Atoka, TN; nieces and nephews, Carolyn Karle, Stephanie Hess, Jenny Bernhard, Todd and Kirk Reynolds, James, David, Robert and Stephen McConnell, and Andrew and Daniel Wilson; and special friends, Janie, Heather and Tiffany.
     Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St., Tuesday 1:30 p.m. until the time of service there at 3 p.m. with the Rev. James W. McCormack officiating.  Private burial will be at Shenango Valley Cemetery, Greenville, PA.  Memorials may be made to St. Mary's East, 607 E. 26th St., Erie, PA 16504.
