Martha A. Veitch Lundgren, age 84, of Erie, passed away Sunday July 21st, 2013 at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Born in Erie on September 29th, 1928, she was the daughter of Matthew C. and Mary K. Klaiber Veitch.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Milton Lundgren in 1976.
She is survived by her son Mel Lundgren and his wife Beth from Bel Air, MD, daughter, Marilyn L. Lundgren, of Erie; three grandchildren: Matt C. Lundgren, Jason A. Lundgren and Angela M. Lundgren and two great grandchildren Kaylee A. Lundgren and Carina N. Lundgren, and two sisters-in-law, Marian Lundgren and Evelyn Lasher.
Martha was a member of the New Hope Presbyterian Church and of the Pilgrims Women’s group. She was an avid doll collector and was a member of the Presque Isle Doll Club. She was also was a member of the Women’s Spiritual Weight Loss Group and was active with the Victoria Missionary. She enjoyed entertaining and always was willing to help others.
Martha worked as a Physical Therapist, her career spanned 45 years and she was affiliated with the Gertrude A. Barber Center, the Erie Soldiers and Sailors Home, and Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W.26th Street Erie on Friday July 26th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend services there on Saturday July 27th at 10 a.m. with Reverend Charles McClung officiating. Burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
