Marsha Swagerty

Marsha M. “Cakelady” Swagerty, age 64 of Erie, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at her residence following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Erie on March 12, 1949, a daughter of the late Marshall A. and Donna Marie May Atkin.

Marsha attended East High School, and worked in food service at Quality Markets.

She was an avid bingo player and caregiver of her brother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas F. Swagerty, Jr.

Survivors include a son Thomas F. Swagerty, III and his wife Cheryl, a daughter, Geraldine Craven, husband William; a son Harley Swagerty, Jr., wife Stacey; a daughter Rebecca Swagerty and her boyfriend Anthony Gates; grandchildren: Michelle, Tiffany, and Jessica Craven and Maverick and Dakota Swagerty; four step grandchildren; a brother Richard Atkin, a sister Patricia Fritz, husband Andy, Sr.; a niece, several nephews, and many cousins.

Services were private and at the convenience of the family.

Burial in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
