Marlene Leroy

Marlene Faye Radzek Leroy, age 81 of Erie, died on Friday December 27, 2013 in UPMC Hamot. She was born October 24, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio, the only child of the late Cecelia Lubeach Radzek and Nathan J. Radzek.

Marlene graduated from South High School and Ohio State University with a teaching degree. She and her husband Chester moved to Erie in 1966 where they raised four children. She also loved to read.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Doreen Mennecke on February 26, 2013.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Chester S. Leroy, and their children: Neil (Jann) Leroy of Erie, Marsha (Lyle) Holland of Westfield, NY, and Nancy Drake of Erie. She is further survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Friends are invited to call on the family on Monday December 30, 2103 at Burton Funeral Home, 602 W. 10th St., from Noon until the time of the service at 1:00 pm with Rabbi Leonard Lifshen officiating. Burial will follow at C.B.S. Cemetery, 26th and Asbury.
