Mark Tupek

October 8, 1959 — February 26, 2015

Mark R. Tupek, Sr. age 55, of Erie, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Erie on October 8, 1959 son of Ann Dunst Tupek of Waxahachie, TX and the late Joseph Tupek Sr.

He graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1979. He worked for many years at Glenwood Beer.

Mark was an avid sports fan and coach. He enjoyed baseball, football and horse racing. He also enjoyed watching his beloved St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears and Kentucky Wildcats.

Along with his father he was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Tupek Jr. and two sisters Diane Tupek and Joanne Clinger.

Mark is survived by his wife Jackie; two sons Anthony Paul Tupek (Stacy) Mark Raymond Tupek (fiancé Nicole) and three grandchildren Adalynn and Aaron Tupek and Alivia Bean. He is further survived by five sisters Chris and Jerry Martin of Erie, Kathy Gaerttner of OH, Mary Ann Osterberg of TX, Yvonne Wilt (Richard) of Pittsburgh and Colleen Jennings of Erie; a brother Daniel Tupek (Beth) of Erie and many nieces nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave.) on Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8 pm and on Monday from 11 until the time of the service at 12 noon at Elmwood Presbyterian Church 2816 Elmwood Ave. Erie PA 16508 with his father-in-law Rev. Harry Johns III officiating.

Memorials may be made to the family in care of Burton Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the members of Team Tupek for their love and support, as well as VNA of Erie for their heart felt care of our hero, Mark Tupek Sr.. The unbelievable amount of encouragement and participation in Team Tupek events not only helped Mark reach his goals, but also benefited Pancreatic Cancer awareness. He waged hope and inspired many. We will continue to fight your fight and honor your legacy. Know it. Fight it. End it.
