Mark D. Rembert “Ramrod” “Rammer” age 62, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at AHN St. Vincent after a courageous battle with cancer and tremendous fight with medical issues.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 23, 1961 a son of the late Dennis L. Rembert, Sr. and Lois Medinger Rembert. Mark was Perennial All-Star in Dehaven little league.
Mark graduated from Shaler Area High School in 1979. He graduated from Gannon University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing. He was part of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He also holds prestigious titles such as Chartered Property/Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Underwriting (AU), and the Associate in General Insurance (AINS) designations.
Mark has been very active in the community and has served as a board member and a volunteer for various organizations in the Erie area including the Martin Luther King Center and United Way.
He was an avid poker player and placed 7th out of 345 at the National Champion Finals of the World Tavern Poker Open in Las Vegas. He also worked as a casino dealer at Presque Isle Downs and Casino.
He enjoyed playing hockey and played for the Gannon Club Team, Hunter’s Hockey Club, Cornerstone Hockey Club and also enjoyed playing ball hockey.
Mark enjoyed boating, fishing, and loved animals. He also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis L. Rembert, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, whom he has been with for 25 years and has known for 42 years, Cindy Warrington Rembert; a brother, Brian Rembert (Diana); his ex-wife, Anna Rembert and several nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his dog, Simba.
The family would like to thank the AHN Cancer Institute for their constant care and compassion as well as all of the nurses and especially Dr. Jeffrey Buetikofer for their care.
Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
