Mark Davis

Mark A. Davis, age 54, went to be with his Lord on April 14, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie, Pa. after an extended illness.

Mark was born on May 16, 1960 in Erie, Pa. the firstborn of Carl and Sally (Griggs) Davis of Fairview, Pa. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1978. He attended Edinboro University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Art History and later a Master’s degree in Social Work. He also attained credits while attending Cambridge University in England. Mark was a LSW Therapist at Stairways Behavioral Health’s Outpatient Clinic where he was beloved by his clients and co-workers.

Mark was an avid antiques collector and was a certified antiques appraiser. He also had a great love and deep knowledge of both history and genealogy. He was a member of several local area historical societies. Mark enjoyed travelling to the United Kingdom, visiting England and Wales several times. He was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Lawrence Park where he served on the board

Mark was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Marvin and Pauline Davis, who were founders of the WLD Ranch, his uncle Wayne L. Davis, and his maternal grandparents Harold and Romaine Griggs.

He is survived by his parents Carl and Sally (Griggs) Davis of Fairview, Pa., a sister Valarie (Craig) Mayle of Harrisburg, Pa., a sister Carrie Christina (Paul) Kan of Oakville, Ontario, Canada, one niece Amy Mayle of Harrisburg, Pa., an uncle Norman (Joann) Davis or Durham North Carolina, an aunt Sherry Hill of Florida and several cousins.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell) ave on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ed Huntley officiating. Private burial will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
