Marjorie J. Tillman age 90, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014.
She was born in Sharon, PA on December 1, 1923, a daughter of the late Elmer F. and Alice Donavan Claffey.
Marjorie graduated from Strong Vincent High School and attended Mercyhurst College where she majored in fashion illustration and fine arts.
She served in the US Navy Waves in Washington, DC <https://mail.burtonfuneralhome.com/owa/UrlBlockedError.aspx> during WWII. Upon her return home Marjorie went to work as a Fashion Illustrator for Halles and Carlisles Department Stores until 1949. She then married Lee Tillman, they operated their business Tillman Art Studio in Erie until they retired and moved to Florida in 1980. They returned to Erie to be with their family in 2001.
Marjorie enjoyed bowling, archery, golf, crafts, bingo and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Tillman, twin sister Mary Claffey who passed only 19 hours before her, her sister Helen Leigey and brother James Claffey.
Marjorie is survived by her sons Thomas Tillman (Gay Kilmer), David Tillman, granddaughter Jenna Moran (Brandon), Summer Weaver and Simon Ekelund and their families, several loving nieces and nephews and caregiver Penny Rapp.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Michael DeMartinis officiating.
Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Marjorie J. Tillman and Mary R. Claffey, twin sisters, age 90, both passed away on Thanksgiving Day November 27, 2014 within 19 hours of each other.
Marge and Mary came into the world together, lived and laughed, and left the world just hours apart.
