Marjorie Smith

Marjorie Anne Smith, age 90 of Millcreek, passed away peacefully, at the home of her daughter on Thursday May 25, 2017.                  She was born in Erie on May 11, 1927, a daughter of the late Clarence A. and Olive Shaner Milks.  Marjorie was a graduate of Millcreek High School in 1945 and went on to earn her Degree in Business at Villa Maria College in 1949.  She worked for A.O. Smith, currently FMC Technologies, for over 30 years. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Erie Shriner’s Hospital for Children, where she was recognized for giving over 2000 hours of her time.  Marjorie was an active member of the Order of Eastern Star Gridley Chapter #324 and the Daughters of the Nile, Selket Temple No. 140.  She had a deep love for her family and her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.    In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda L. Denning and her sister, Barbara Ann Milks. Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia L. Smith, of Girard, Jacqueline L. McMann and her husband Tim, of Greene Township and a son-in-law, Paul Denning of Erie.  Marjorie is further survived by seven grandchildren, Jodi (Brian) Fallon of North East, Randy (Ashley) McMann and  Kelley McMann of Greene Township, P.J. Denning, Shawn Denning,  Scott  Denning and Nicole Denning all of Erie, as well as many great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Burton Westlake funeral home on Tuesday, May 30th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Burial will be private in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
