Marion Wiler
April 7, 1934 — May 3, 2024
Marion Wiler, age 90, of Erie, passed away at home, Friday May 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie, April 7, 1934, a daughter of the late Charles and Marie Gott.
Marion loved going to the family camp with her late husband, George. She enjoyed watching birds, sports, especially the Indians, and her shows on Hallmark (always a happy ending). She was an avid reader, who had a particular interest in American history. Marion was sharp as a tack, and the family would rely on her for fact-checking. She was Google, before Google existed. Marion had a fantastic sense of humor, often leaving folks in stitches with her jokes and quick wit. Marion was the family matriarch and loved visiting with family and staying up to date on everyone's life events.
Marion is survived by her children, Randy Wiler (Maggie), Janine Canfield (Dan), Karen Luce (Randy), Charlene Friedrich (Tom), Brenda Dombrowski, Beth Gilbert, and Sandy Piotrowski (James). She is survived by her grandchildren, Brett Wiler, Keith Canfield, Heather Patch, Jeff Eger, Ryan Eger, Brian Friedrich, Jason Friedrich, Courtney Mumford, Shannon McConnell, Nick Dombrowski, Sara Tillotson, Cody Gilbert, Kalie Cangemi, Marshall Piotrowski, Maddie Piotrowski, and Kaylyn Herrick. Further survived by 26 great grandchildren, siblings Jerry Gott, Virginia Pelkowski, Gilbert Gott, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by husband, George Wiler, son in law Jeff Dombrowski, great granddaughter Emily Eger, and brothers, Doug, Dan, and Jim Gott.
Friends are invited Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. West Ridge, 3801 West 26th Street, Erie. “If God's willing and the creeks don't rise.” Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
