Marion M. Rosthauser Rogers Fitzreiter, 97, formerly of West Gore Rd., died Wed., May 8, 2013, at Sarah Reed Retirement Center. She was born May 7, 1916 in Erie, daughter of the late Charles and Lillian Johannes Rosthauser. A 1934 graduate of Academy High School, she was an office manager and executive secretary for the Louis Marx Toy Company Corporate Offices in Erie where she worked for 27 years retiring in 1978. She had also worked with Parke Bernet of New York in the auctioning of the Marx antique toys and was one of three founding members of the Marx Toy Museum. Marion was a former president of the McKinley and Wilson Junior High PTAs, was a former secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Dental Laboratory Assoc. of PA, was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and volunteered in the church office for over 30 years, was a life member of Shiloh Chapter No. 153 Order of Eastern Star, and a member of the Woman's Club of Erie and the Maennerchor Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 46 years, Denny B. Rogers, in 1982; her second husband of 27 years, Carl R. Fitzreiter, in 2012; and a sister, Mildred Puffer.
Survivors include a son, Dennis J. Rogers and wife Mary "Pattie" of Erie; grandson, Dennis M. Rogers and wife Missy of Erie; three stepchildren, James Fitzreiter and wife Chris of Florida; and Robert Fitzreiter and wife Debbie and Judith Beaton and husband Glen, all of Erie; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private Services at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Roy P. Washill of St. John's Lutheran Church, Officiating. Burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements Have Been Entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Erie. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 2216 Peach St., Erie, PA 16502; or to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, PA 16505.
