Marion Kunz

Marion Kathleen “Mary Ann” Kunz, age 90, of Fairview, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at St Mary’s at Asbury Ridge.

She was born May 29, 1927, in Erie, a daughter of the late George M. and Marion Robison Kunz.

Mary Ann was an optician for 40 years at Hess Bros. Opticians and also was a welder at Automation Devices in Fairview for 11 years.  She had been a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church since its founding and was a Eucharistic minister, belonged to the Rosary Society and had volunteered in the Holy Cross kitchen for over 15 years. Mary Ann was also a hostess and tour guide for over 30 years for Morg Edwards Tour Bus Company.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her stepfather George Paul Heldman; two sisters: Florence Laskoski and Norma Chapin; two brothers: Jack Kunz and George Kunz; a brother in law James Chapin, and her special friend, Frances Stefurak, who just passed away on October 15, 2017.

Surviving are, two sisters-in-law: Roxanne Kunz and Georgiana Kunz, nieces:  Marjorie, Lorie, Kathy, and Nephew Michael; and her “boys: Ben, Eric, Greg, Randy Longo, whom she consider family.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at 10 am on Saturday, December 9th at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 7100 West Ridge Road, Fairview, with Rev. Thomas Tyler celebrant. 

Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to  Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East in Girard.
