Marion Deveney

Marion R. Sutter Deveney age 88, formerly of Erie, died on Saturday, June 16^th, 2018 at Heartland of Uptown Westerville in Ohio.

She was born in Erie on July 9^th, 1929 the daughter of the late Flora and Ferdinand Sutter. Marion graduated from McKean High School in 1948.

She was employed at Saint Vincent Health Center for 37 years, retiring in 1994. Marion’s church community was very important to her and she belonged for many years to Bethel Baptist and Garden Heights Baptist Churches in Erie and since moving to Westerville, OH in 2007 attended Westerville Nazarene Church.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death her beloved husband William in 2009, whom she married on September 8^th, 1951, two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Janis Meister and husband Dan of Westerville, OH; her son, Timothy Deveney of Erie; her daughter, Becki Winkler and husband Rusty of Wattsburg; and her brother, Donald Sutter and wife Marjorie of McKean.

She is further survived by five grandchildren, Melissa Meister; Kristin Reed, her husband Brian; Shilo Portice, her husband Nick; Josh Winkler, and Jeff Deveney, his wife Chrissy. Five great-grandchildren further survive, Conner Reed, Ava Reed, Kaitlyn Deveney, Dylan and Wyatt Portice as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home 2532 Norcross Road Erie, PA 16510 on Wednesday June 20th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and are invited to a service there on Thursday June 21^st at 10:00 am with Rev. Mark Warnshuis of Garden Heights Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
