Marion Beatty

     Marion R. Beatty, 93, of Erie, died on Monday, September 25, 2017, at Sarah Reed Senior Living.  She was born on February 6, 1924, in Erie, daughter of the late William and Muriel Kinter Beatty.
     A 1942 graduate of Strong Vincent High School, she did secretarial work for the PA Department of Public Assistance for 23 years, retiring in 1984.  She had previously worked for the Greater Erie Community Action Committee, PA State Employment Service, Bache and Company, and the U.S. Department of Navy.
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Rosenthal; and niece, Nancy Scott.
     Marion enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada.  She also enjoyed sewing, embroidery, knitting and crocheting, and collecting dolls.
     Survivors include a nephew, Lawrence G. Scott of Aliquippa, Pa..; grandnephew, Geoffrey Grahm Scott of Pittsburgh, Pa.; grandniece, Lauren Nicole Scott of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and cousins, Jacqueline Fried of Erie, Gary Beatty of Youngstown, Ohio, and Bill Kirschner and wife Carol of Kirkland, Ohio.
     Private services and services of interment will be conducted at Erie Cemetery.
