Mario Medina, Sr.

Mario Medina Sr., age 61, of Erie, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital Monday, January 25, 2021.  He was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, on July 10, 1959 a son of the late Pablo and Antonia Medina.

He was very well known as a resource, job placement and social worker for the Multicultural Community Resource Center in Erie. Mario was also the organizer of many local Latino organizations and was a popular radio personality on local radio WERG since 2001.

He was known for his unstoppable work ethic, and loved soccer, music, cooking and especially eating. More than anything however, Mario loved his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Mario is survived by his current wife Yolanda; sons Juan Medina and his wife Olga Martinez of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico; Mario Medina of Erie; Daniel (Brenda) Medina and daughter Lisa (Ryan) Dougan and step son, Luigi all of Erie. He is further survived by five grandchildren, one brother, four sisters and his first wife of Erie Lisa (Geib) Medina.
