Marilyn Darr

August 5, 1933 — June 25, 2018

Marilyn A. “Mare” Darr, age 84, formerly of Girard and Fairview, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at St. Mary’s Asbury Ridge.

She was born on August 5, 1933 in Brocton, NY, a daughter of the late Dewey and Grace Childs.

Marilyn graduated from Cassadaga High School in Sinclairville, NY.

Once all her children were in school, she worked for Sinclair’s Auto Miniatures in Millcreek until she started working for Darr Industries full-time. She served as an officer of Darr Industries for 17 years and worked at Buyers Fair from 1997 until her retirement in 2004. Marilyn had been a volunteer at Pleasant Ridge Manor for 28 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard A. Darr in 1977 and former husband, J. P. “Skip” Darr in 2012.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Bonnie L. Libell and her husband, Chuck of Lake City and Jill M. Palmer and her husband Gary of Byron, IL., John D. Darr and his wife Kathryn Holliday-Darr of Girard and William R. Darr (Betty Murphy Sweet) of Erie. She is further survived by grandchildren, Edmund Libell, Matthew Libell and his wife, Beverly, and Melodie Bogue and her husband, Tavis; and Jesse Liszka and her husband, Daniel; and 5 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard.
