Marilyn Bounds

Marilyn L. Parraway Bounds, age 65 of Erie, Pa., made her transition peacefully on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Jefferson Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.

Marilyn was born in NY on April 4, 1951, a daughter of the late Kenneth Parraway, Sr., Mattie Williams Dyess, and stepdaughter of Eddie Dyess. She was a lifelong resident of Erie, Pa. and attended East High School.

Marilyn’s primary employment was homemaker (one she never regretted). She also volunteered with Community of Care’s food pantry for over 30 years.

She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards and drinking her Pepsi while spending time with family and friends.

Marilyn was a former member of House of Prayer Church. She could always be found having weekly Bible study in her home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Bounds, son Frank Parraway, and a brother, Kenneth Parraway, Jr.

Marilyn is survived by daughters: Regina House (Maurice) of Erie, Diane Baker (Shawn) of FL, and a son Damian Bounds (Wendy) of GA; brothers: James Parraway (Ramona) of Erie, Andre Parraway of MD, Dexter Parraway (Lezle) of DE, and Henry Dyess of Pittsburgh, PA; sisters: Jacqueline Henderson (Dennis), Lisa Parraway (Tommie Dunlap) of Erie, Donna Walker of AL, Penny Parraway of Pittsburgh, PA, April Ross (Lyndon) of MD, Angela Parraway of MD, and Audrey Parraway Woods (Raymond) of DE and 10 grandchildren, which were her pride and joy- she will forever be “Granny”. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Friends may call upon the family at Greater Bethlehem Temple Church, 4103 Washington Ave. in Erie, PA on Saturday January 28, 2017 from 11 am until the time of service at 1 pm with Elder Albert Thomas officiating and Associate Pastor Ernest Crosby, eulogizing.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the charity of one’s choice in Marilyn’s memory.

Interment will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
