Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother
Marietta J. Hurt, age 78 of Erie, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 28, 2018.
She was born in Columbus, Kentucky on September 13, 1939, daughter of the late Alma Berniece McKinney Deboe and Kiser DeBoe.
Marietta retired from St. Marys Home after over thirty years of service.
She was a faithful member of Cornerstone Liberty Community Church where she served as an usher for many years.
She was an avid bowler in the Mixed Rollers League at Eastway Lanes.
Marietta enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was full of love and always made you laugh. Affectionately known as Pudden, she will be dearly missed by all those who loved her.
Besides her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband Billy Ray Hurt and brother Herman DeBoe.
She leaves to cherish her memory, four daughters, Deborah Knight (Marlon), Dorothy Deboe (Roy), Natasha Cleckley (DaWayne) and Tanika Hurt, one son, Anthony Hurt (Kitty), one aunt Artie Simmons (Robert), two uncles, Marion Woodfork (Mamie) and Richard Woodfork, goddaughter Tara Hansbrew, thirteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street from 3 to 7 pm. A further viewing hour will be Friday at Cornerstone Liberty Community Church, 2220 Wayne Street from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am with Dr. Sandra Vactor officiating.
Burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
