Marie Ferritta

Marie Ann Ferritta, aged 97, died Tuesday morning, January 31, 2023, among family at Sunrise at Bluemont assisted living in Arlington, VA.  Marie was born on May 24, 1925, in Erie, PA to Peter and Catherine Guzzo.

Marie is survived by her two children, Marc Ferritta and his wife Anita of Erie and Mariann Roth and her husband Marc of Falls Church, VA.  She is also survived by her two grandchildren Tony and Chantel Little. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Ferritta (Romeo).

Always the caring mother and friend, Marie focused on raising her family and providing a good home with lots of love and great cooking.  Marie met her husband Frank of 67 years at a party after he was stood up by his date for the evening – fate at its finest.  Marie loved to travel with her children experiencing the sights, sounds and wonderful food of places such as Hawaii, Las Vegas, New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami.  She also enjoyed shipboard life as a passenger on numerous cruises.  Upon passing of her husband in 2017, Marie moved to Falls Church, VA to be nearer to her daughter.

The Ferritta family would like to extend our gratitude to all our friends and family for their well wishes, prayers, and especially the support of her caregivers that showed her love and kept her safe – Rita, Yvonne, Gina, Josephine, and Rebecca.  We celebrate Marie’s life and memory.

Friends are invited to call at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 2801 West 6^th St. on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at which time a Funeral Mass will be celebrated.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
