Marie Caserta

Marie L. Caserta, age 95, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 at Walnut Creek Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on July 9, 1925, in Erie, a daughter to the late Perry and Lena (Wegmiller) Daugherty.

Marie graduated from Academy High School. After graduation, she worked for Marx Toys and Lord Corporation. Marie was quiet, kind, shy and very loveable. She loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces. Marie enjoyed taking car rides through the countryside with her son, autumn was her favorite time of year. She liked to read and was fond of needlepoint and crafts. Marie was a longtime parishioner of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dominick; her sisters, Audrey Daugherty, Norma Benny and Ruth Lowes; brother, Bernard Daugherty; and her parents.

She will be forever missed by her son, David (Carol) Caserta and several nieces and nephews.  

Friends may call on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc Downtown, 602 W 10^th St, Erie 16502. A service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, June 4 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Owen Rhodes of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
