Marie Louise Eschbach Boice, age 93 of Erie, died Sunday, December 20, 2015 at St. Mary’s Asbury Ridge.
She was born in Paris, France on November 1, 1922 daughter of the late Everett V. and Madeleine Angot Eschbach.
Marie graduated from Michigan State University and did post graduate work at Villa Maria College.
She was a nursery school teacher at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Fairview.
Marie was a member of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Paul and had served as president of the Cathedral League, Hamot Aide Society, Carrie T. Watson Garden Club, Erie Yacht Club, Lincoln Hills Club in Ludington, Michigan, and was past president of the Erie Council of Republican Women and was elected to serve in the Pennsylvania State Board.
She enjoyed traveling, especially to France, gardening, playing bridge, golf, and playing the piano.
She spent her summers on Lake Michigan at the family cottage.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, William K. Boice, a brother, Robert L. Eschbach, a sister, Christiane M. Poxson, a brother-in-law, Alfred M. Boice.
She is survived by a son, Peter A. Boice of Erie, two daughters, Cynthia B. Hunt, M.D. and her husband Samuel P. Hunt III of Wellesley, MA, D. Judith Boice of Longboat Key, FL., and a grand- daughter, Christine B. Kearsley of Silver Spring, MD.
Friends may call at The Episcopal Cathedral of St. Paul, 133 West 6th Street on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of service there at 11:30 am with the Very Reverend Dean Downey officiating.
There will be a private burial in Mount Hope Cemetery in Lansing, MI. Arrangements entrusted to the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 West Tenth St. Erie, Pa. 16502.
