Marian B. Wittenburg age 87, of Millcreek passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Manchester Commons after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Erie on December 11, 1927, a daughter of the late Leo and Hazel McMillen Culhane.
She worked at Perry Plastics for many years.
Marian was nurturing to all, and took care of her brother and brother in law during their illnesses. She enjoyed reading, fishing, camping, gardening and riding her little motorcycle. She was an excellent seamstress and owned a sewing store in Girard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Wittenburg; a grandson, SSG. Jeremy Horton; three brothers, Robert, “Jack” and Tom Culhane; and two sisters, Ethel Barlett and Jean Crandall.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, David R. Wittenburg; a daughter, Gretchen Miller and her husband Adam; daughter-in-law Sharon Wittenburg; a grandson, Jason Horton; a sister, Nancy Bender and her husband Jerry; and three great grandchildren, Michael, Tamara, and Layla. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Rusnak officiating. Private burial will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
