Marian Chestner

Marian Sandelstein Chestner, age 88 of Erie, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 3, 2022, at UPMC Hamot Hospital. 

She was born March 14, 1934, daughter of the late Morris and Anna Klein Sandelstein. Marian was a graduate of Academy High School. She was a member of Congregation Brith Sholom Jewish Center and Temple Anshe Hesed.  Marian was a member of the Erie Yacht Club and the Erie Shrine Club Ladies Auxiliary.  She enjoyed shopping, crafts, tending to her beautiful greenhouse and cooking for her family.  Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 ½ years, Harvey A. Chestner in 2010, a loving son, Nathan Howard Chestner in 2000 and daughter-in-law, Diane Chestner in 2013. 

Survivors include two daughters: Robin (Jim) Reynolds and Melanie (Steve) Wood, grandchildren: Joseph (Ryan) Chestner, Brittani (Baren) Kafferlin, Zackary (Lexi) Chestner as well as her six great grandchildren. Many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. 

Friends are invited to call on the family at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 West 26^th Street, Erie. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12:30 p.m. with Rabbi Rob Morais, officiating. Burial will follow in Congregation Brith Sholom Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8^th Street, Erie, PA 16505, or the A.N.N.A. Shelter, 1555 E. 10^th St., Erie, PA 16501.
