Margaret Vargo

Margaret R. Vargo age 98, formerly of Erie and Miami, FL, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at her residence in Arlington Heights, IL.

She was born in Erie on December 30, 1918, a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Janson Winschel.

Margaret graduated from East High School and had been a member of St. Patrick’s Church. During WWII she was an assembler of bomb shells.

She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed traveling all over the world with her husband. She enjoyed playing the organ and had lived in Miami for over 40 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Larry, Francis, Edward and Charles; and a sister Mary.

She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Yeager of Erie; a son, David Vargo of Florida; two grandchildren, Eric Yeager and Loren Yeager; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
