Margaret Rand

Margaret A. Rand, age 82, formerly of Lake City, passed from this life, into the next on Friday September 22, 2017 at Edinboro Manor.

She was born in Fairview on November 27, 1934, the daughter of the late Joseph and Thecla Nies Klier.

Margaret was a graduate of Fairview High School, Class of 1952.  After high school, she met and married her best friend and help mate, William A. Rand.

She had worked at Platz’s Market in Girard and drove vans for Solvent Transportation and Erie Lift.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and taking care of her family.  And of course, she loved a cold beer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Rand. 

Margaret is survived by her two sons, Thomas Rand and his partner, Carole of Girard and Mark Rand and his wife, Betty of Mill Village; sister, Mary Therese Teske of Darien, IL; and a brother, John Klier and his wife Helen of Fairview.  She is further survived her sister in laws, Patricia Baker of Alliance, NE and Janice Rand of Girard; as well as eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East in Girard on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and are invited to attend a funeral service there on Tuesday at 11 am, in the All Faith Chapel.

Inurnment will be at St. John’s Cemetery at a later date.
