Margaret Mccurdy

Margaret M. McCurdy, age 87, of Tomball, TX, formerly of Erie, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Heritage Assisted Living. She was born in Waterford on December 28, 1927, a daughter of the late Hobart and Porchia Moore Lewis.

She graduated from Waterford High School and attended Elmwood Presbyterian Church with her husband. After the kids were grown, she worked in a Hallmark card shop in downtown Erie. She and her husband enjoyed traveling especially Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles A. McCurdy in 2012 and a brother Hobart Lewis.

Margaret is survived by two children: Martha McCurdy Stewart of Cypress, TX and Charles McCurdy of Erie; three step-daughters Sandra McCurdy Gordon and her husband Tom of Naples, Fl, Debera McCurdy Hallmark (Stanley) Dekiel of Pompano Beach, Fl, Rebecca McCurdy (Dave) Herman of Erie; twelve grandchildren, numerous great- great grandchildren; a brother Ronald (Roseann) Lewis of Waterford and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 W. 10th Street Erie, Pa 16502 on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m and 6 to 8 p.m. and attend a funeral service there on Saturday at 10am with Rev. Harry Johns III officiating. Burial in Waterford Cemetery.
