Margaret A. Braccini Heil age 93 of Erie, PA passed away peacefully December 17, 2024 at Elmwood Gardens. She was born in Erie on August 19, 1931, the daughter of the late Louis Braccini and Matilda Marty Braccini.

Peggy graduated from Academy High School in 1950. She worked for many years as a medical secretary and was well known for her amazing typing, speed, shorthand and dictation skills. She later worked as a nanny for several of the neighborhood families in Waterford. Peggy enjoyed going for walks, reading and word search puzzles. In her earlier years she loved gardening and was most proud of her roses and glads. Peggy always had an eye for style, although she didn’t go out much, when she did, she would dress to impress. 

She enjoyed living at St. Joseph’s apartments. She loved and took great pride in her apartment and was grateful for all the wonderful people she met over the years.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Braccini; a sister, Marylou Vannucci and her former husband of 38 years, Ralph Heil.

Margaret is survived by a daughter, Deborah Heil of Lexington, NC; a son, Mark Heil (Lisa) of Erie; 2 grandchildren: Nick and Tessa Grinberg of Lexington, NC; a sister, Rose Emling of Erie; a brother, John Braccini (Julie) of Brazil; several nieces, nephews and a dear friend Linda Vaughn.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at CRI, Elmwood Gardens and LECOM VNA (Hospice) for the love, care and support they gave.

Private funeral arrangements entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Wintergreen and will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial in Whispering Pines Cremation Gardens.

Memorial may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater PA Chapter, 2835 E. Carson St. Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15203 or a charity of one’s choice.
