Margaret Fogle

Margaret Power Fogle, age 88, of Millcreek, passed away Thursday April 7, 2016 at St. Mary’s Asbury Ridge. She was born June 21, 1927, in Oil City, PA, daughter of the late Maurice A. and Helen Donaghy Power.

She was a 1945 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and a 1949 graduate of Villa Maria College. She was an American Red Cross swimming instructor at Camp Hawthorne Ridge, Camp Kateri and at Villa Maria College for 19 years. She was an expert seamstress, retiring from Bridal Elegance in 1999. She loved crossword puzzles and was an avid duck pin and ten pin bowler.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd J. Fogle, her brother Maurice A. Power, Jr., and her sisters Mary Helen Brumbach, Clare Aho, Maureen Haake and Jeanne Stafford.

She is survived by her children, Karen Swartwood (David) of Cape Coral, FL, David Fogle (Kathy) of Stow, OH, Jeffrey Fogle (Carol) of Redondo Beach, CA and Thomas Fogle of Erie. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephen Gaczkowski (Laura), Jim Gaczkowski (Kim), Brenda Neary (Michael), Shaun Fogle (Kim), Ryan Fogle (Lynsey), Daniel Fogle, Kyle Fogle, Scott Fogle, Jennifer Fogle and J.J. Fogle (Marle) and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Julia Campbell (James) of Erie, PA.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street at Powell Avenue on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Calling will continue on Tuesday in the Chapel at St. Mary’s Asbury Ridge (4855 West Ridge Road, Erie) from 10:00 am until the time of the service there at 11:00 am.

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
