Margaret Dressler

Margaret J. Dressler, 97, of Westlake Woods, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022.

She was born on March 10, 1924, in Erie, PA, daughter of the late Arthur C. Brandler and the late Ethel Sandstrom Brandler. A 1942 graduate of Academy High School.

Mrs. Dressler was a Dental Assistant for Erie School District, a secretary for New York Central Railroad, and a librarian for Millcreek Township School District. Later Margaret was owner & operator of Marge’s Beautiful You Figure Salon.

Margaret was a former member of Luther Memorial Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in choir for many years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Margaret was also a life member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine Lotus Court 33. Former member of the Betsy Ross Chapter No. 385 Order of Eastern Star, National Oriental Shrine, Zem Zem Brass Band Ladies Group, Zukor Club Ladies Auxiliary, Erie Maennerchor Club Ladies Auxiliary, East Erie Turners Ladies Auxiliary and the Rainbow Girls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Dressler of 72 years on November 13, 2021.

Survivors include two sons, Charles A. (Sarah) Dressler of Douglassville, PA and Douglas D. (Diane) Dressler of Erie; five grandchildren, Jeffrey C. Dressler of Tucson, AZ, Jonathan R. (Kimberly) Dressler of Robbinsville, NJ, Jennifer S. (Dylan) Hastings of Philadelphia, PA, and Craig M. (Jill) Dressler and Mark C. (Bethany) Dressler of Erie; five great-grandchildren, Grayson, Ava, Aubrey and Nathan Dressler and Leighton Hastings; and several nieces and nephews.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation and Funeral Services West Ridge, 3801 West 26th Street. The Rt. Rev. Sean Rowe, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northwestern Pennsylvania, will officiate private services. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
