Margaret Corder

Margaret Ree Corder, age 83, of Erie, passed away on December 11, 2014 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Pickens County, AL on January 25, 1931, to the late Tommie Hughes and Louise Lanier Hughes. She relocated to Erie in 1968 where she resided for past 46 years.

Margret was a great servant of God and attended Morning Star Baptist Church. She had many hobbies including fishing, sewing, and gardening. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Corder Sr., a sister, Lula Mae Scarbrough, and three brothers; Sam Hughes, Tommie Hughes Jr., and Esaw Hughes.

Margaret is survived by three sons; Thomas McKinstry (Linda), Willie Cameron (Vera), and Alex Cameron (Mary) all of Erie. Six step children ; Ann Corder, Chestine Corder, Henry Corder Jr., Jerry Corder, and James Corder all of Erie, and Earline Dogan of Chicago, Ill.

Six grandchildren; Edric McKinstry, Tammy Cameron-Allen, Andre Cameron, Tyson Marlow, Darian Brady, and Mary Adams. Eight sisters ; Bettye Walker (James) of Erie, Rose Singley and Mattie Thompson of Salians, CA, Murrie Beverly of Anchorage, AK, Hattie Jones of Atlanta, GA., Voniecle Foster (Cleveland), Mamie Ellis, Annie Pearl Walker all of Tuscaloosa, AL.;

Two brothers; Joe W. Hughes of Farrell, PA., and Bobby Hughes of Erie, Pa. She also leaves many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to call at the Morningstar Baptist Church 327 E. 23rd St, Erie, PA

16503 on Thursday from 4:00 pm. till 8:00 pm and are invited to services there on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Amos Goodwine, Sr. bringing the eulogy and Reverend Duane Hunter officiating.

Interment will be at the Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
