Margaret "Marge" Culbertson Carr, 75, of Erie, died on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at UPMC Hamot. She was born on March 6, 1942, in Erie, PA, daughter of the late Kenneth and Eleanor Seifert Culbertson.
Marge was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School Class of 1960. She worked at Case Erie Supply, Gem City Furniture and part time as a cook at Balthes Grill. She later babysat in her home.
She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church. She belonged to the Altar Society and many other committees at Sacred Heart. She was a TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) member of PA56 where she held many positions. She loved to knit, crochet, cross-stitch and read.
Besides her parents, Marge was preceded in death by 6 brothers-in-law and 4 sisters-in-law.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years and the love of her life, Lester Carr; her sons, Robert Carr and wife Becky of Livonia, MI and Mark Carr and wife Stephanie of Ellicott City, MD. Also survived by four grandchildren, Jacob, Gabriella and Nathaniel Carr of Ellicott City, MD and Maggie Carr of Livonia, MI; 6 sisters-in-law, 4 brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.
Friends may call Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street. Family and friends are invited to assemble Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. A private family inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
